Do you want to become a rich person? Do want to escape poverty and live a prosperous life? Have you already read tons of “getting rich” books and articles, watch lots of “jump into riches” DVDs, and attended several “fortune fishing” seminars? But still they are not making you a wealthy person you ever dreamed of? Then, this article is for you? Here, we are digging up thousands of years old scriptures that contain guides and instruction to the true riches. There can be no greater author of books than the One who never lies – whom is God. If you want to become rich like a tree that bears abundant fruits, you have to put your trust and faith to Him who put our lives into existence. Now, let us put into our wisdom and knowledge and let ourselves understand that God wants us to be rich in the first place. So let us sit back, relax, and tackle our faith to riches.
To begin with, here is one promise that God has given to people who honor Him with their wealth and profits.
Proverbs 3:9-10 (NIV)
Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
This passage tells us that a man with wisdom (knowledge) and understanding (involving) of the teachings and commandments of God, not only posses riches, but also honor and long life.
Proverbs 3:13-16 (NIV)
Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
Here is another verse supporting that wisdom and understanding bring us treasures. Again, wisdom is knowing God’s instructions and commandments and understanding is doing them.
Proverbs 24:3-4 (NIV)
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
This verse promises blessings to righteous persons and grace to those who have humility in their hearts.
Proverbs 3:33-34 (NIV)
The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble.
The Lord will keep a righteous person away from hunger and poverty.
Proverbs 10:3 (NIV)
The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
These verses from the book of Proverbs promises prosperity to a person who does generosity, especially to the one who does it to the poor.
Proverbs 11:24-25 (NIV)
One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
Proverbs 28:27 (NIV)
He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.
Finally, if you are still reluctant that God cannot give you wealth and all materials things that you need, here is one passage that you must read.
Matthew 6:31-33 (NIV)
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
